Today is october the second and it is apt that we talk about HEY RAM - an extremely pro-gandhi movie.
The movie was never allowed to release properly across the country thanks to politicians (otha) who built it up to be an anti-gandhi film.. had they watched the movie just once, they would have known that Hey Ram will make any gandhian proud.
WHY? Because Hey Ram is the story of a man who is on a mission to kill Gandhi and ends up meeting the mahatma ( in the video) and then changes his mind. What more praise can Gandhi get than the fact that he made his prospective assassin change his mind on meeting him without even knowing that the man was planning to kill him. Kamal then goes on to explore the irony that unfortunately there was another RAM (kamal's character is named saket RAM and it was NATHUR RAM GHOTSE who killed Gandhi) who wanted to kill gandhi but did not meet him.
This scene u are watching is special.Naseerudinshah plays Gandhi to perfection and the dialogues, by kamal again are brilliant...
one of them goes like this...
mahatma to saket :- "DO U REALLY THINK I AM A MAHATMA??"
saket:- "U SHALL DENY ME IF I SAY SO SIR.. SO I SHALL DENY U A DENIAL"
