apart from the screenplay what stands out is Kamal's great acting. especially the climax. he ought to have got a national award for this one. don't know how he missed it.

Thevar magan stands for rich cinema.a rural subject but meant so much for the a centre audience. it had a wonderful performance by kamal's role model sivaji ganesan.

sivaji's role was equivalent to don corleone. Not many realise but thevar magan is the cleverest adaptation of the godfather one can ever see. if cant find out still, watch both movies one more time.
